I am an Inclusive Heathen, a follower of the old Nordic Gods. I worship the Powers That Be. Also known as the Gods, the Ancestors and the Spirits of land and home. I make no claims to any historical lineage; I’ve fought tooth and nail for every bit of knowledge I have. I make no claims of reconstructionism; I do what I can to stay true to the heathen spirit but I live in a wonderfully modern world and have no shame in that. I am inclusive which means that I do not question who the Gods bring to the faith, your blood has no bearing on your worthiness to be in my tribe, your deeds do.
I seek the fullness of a personal faith that incorporates a detailed magical practice. I am not perfect, I do not know everything and my practices have been known to evolve as new experiences alter them.
I have been practicing Heathenry for 20+ years. During that time I have volunteered as the Art Director and then the Chronicler for ADF. I have also been a Steward for the Troth. I have hosted my old Hearth’s high days in my home and held quiet council for those who were suffering. I have performed marriages, landtakings, house blessings and more. I am the co-founder of the Catskin Collective who, for the last decade, have actively worked to learn the Nordic practice of Seiðr.
I share with you my journey not because I believe my way is the only way to find divinity within your life, but because I hope that by sharing this information you find the courage to make your own way in this vast universe. My hope is that if any of this information resonates with you, it brings you contentment within your life.
I have struggled so you wouldn’t have to. Take this information and use it as a launching point for your own practice.
We are our deeds. Make them good ones.
There are a few things you need to know to get the most out of this website:
- The Catskin Collective is a group of people in the midwest that are actively working with the Norse magic/ecstatic practice of Seiðr. This webpage is created by one of those members and much of the knowledge shared here is gleaned from their collective workings. However, unless explicitly stated, this webpage is giving voice only to her singular experience.
- The Catskin Collective are Inclusive Heathens. Who are we to question who the Gods call? If this is a problematical statement for you, feel free to navigate away; This page is not for you.
- The Catskin Collective are not strict reconstructionists. We acknowledge the great weight of tradition and respect the Ancestors, but those ancestors toiled and struggled to get us to where we are today and we need to honor the weight of that immense effort too. We tailor our practice to our needs. We focus on what works, what is useful, and what is healthy.
- You are free to follow your own path, this is just one tradition of many. If you find something of use here then it has been worth the effort. But there is no demand for you to believe or practice the way that is described here. How you plug into the divine is a highly personal topic. We respect your right to worship as you see fit, so please do the same for us.
- We are our deeds. Do good.
